PIANO TUNING
At Allegro Piano Tuning, we provide regular piano tuning services to keep your instrument in optimal condition. The Piano Tuners Association recommends tuning your piano every six months to maintain its pitch and prevent issues caused by seasonal changes. Regular tuning helps ensure your piano stays in excellent condition, as temperature and humidity fluctuations can affect string tension and cause pitch drift. We charge £90 for a fine tune of the full instrument. On the rare occasion that, upon full inspection and discussion, we decide not to go ahead with the appointment, a £50 call-out fee applies.
PITCH RAISE
For pianos that haven't been tuned regularly or have been moved, pitch drop is a common issue. Allegro Piano Tuning offers a pitch-raising service to rectify this problem. Our process involves carefully adjusting the tension of the strings to lift the piano back to the desired pitch. This is done in stages to ensure stability, followed by fine-tuning the entire instrument to achieve a lasting result.
ACTION REPAIR AND REGULATION
Allegro Piano Tuning also specialises in action repair and regulation services. If your piano keys are sticking, the touch feels uneven, or the tone is not what it used to be, these issues can often be resolved through regulation. Regulation involves adjusting the mechanical components of your piano to ensure each key responds correctly and produces a consistent tone. We always discuss prices and decide on necessary repairs with our clients before beginning work, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
